This is my ode to the greatest horror writer of all time, Howard Phillips Lovecraft. This was the last über güber track to be completed, and I think it’s one of my favorites. The blazing lead on this track was played by the one and only Eric Stogner.

It was Erich Zann who wrote the song that you’re about to hear
Just after Charles Dexter Ward bought them a round of beers
When Herbert West started singing, well I nearly lost my mind
But then after all, H.P. Lovecraft is a friend of mine
I followed a whisper in the dark, like the candle and the moth
That’s how I became a guest of the Fungi from Yuggoth
They put my brain inside a jar, and now I’m feeling fine
But then after all, H.P. Lovecraft is a friend of mine
*BRIDGE*
WHEN YOU WAKE UP SCREAMING, CTHULHU IS DREAMING
There’s Rats in the Walls and far worse things that go bump in the night
The Great Old Ones are coming back when the stars are right
And when they do come breaking through from outside space and time
I’ll say, After all, H.P. Lovecraft is a friend of mine
I’ll say, After all, H.P. Lovecraft is a friend of mine
